Color for a Cause to Cure

The Larry Zox Exhibition for Brain Tumors, hosted by the Brain Science Foundation

What happens when Color collides with a Cause to Cure Brain Tumors?

On the evening of Thursday, September 4, in the Back Bay’s leading modern gallery, DTR Modern Galleries, the Brain Science Foundation will a host an exhibition fundraising reception benefiting those living with primary brain tumors and those researching more effective treatments and a cure.

The exhibition will offer an exclusive preview of Larry Zox, an American Abstract expressionist, whose color-drenched canvases made a splash in the Color Field movement of the 1960s. In addition, Color for a Cause to Cure will play an instrumental role in raising funds to advance brain tumor research and seed new projects.

The night will feature a silent auction, all proceeds of which will go to the Brain Science Foundation’s efforts to eradicate meningioma and other types of primary brain tumors. Additionally, 10% of all purchases made that evening will go toward the BSF’s research initiatives, which span multi-disciplinary areas of brain tumor research and clinical practice through the Department of Neurosurgery at the Brigham and Women's Hospital.

Zox’s brilliant compositions of color, as well as master works from the permanent collection on multiple floors, will frame a night of music, cocktails, hors d’oeuvres and awareness, as the Brain Science Foundation, its supporters, and neurosurgeons from across the world gather in celebration of Meningioma Awareness Day 2008, happening on Saturday, September 6, as part of the 6th International Congress on Meningioma and Cerebral Venous System.
