BSF Begins Year with Generous Gift from Meningioma Mommas

The Brain Science Foundation is grateful for a recent donation from the online support group, Meningioma Mommas, in support of the research of Dr. Elizabeth Claus who is spearheading The Meningioma Consortium Study  the largest and most comprehensive study of meningioma to-date. On January 23rd, 2008, Meningioma Mommas Founder and BSF Trustee, Liz Holzemer, presented a check for $5,000 to Dr. Claus. This recent gift brings the total given to the BSF from the Meningioma Mommas to 30K, all in support of the important work of Dr. Claus.

This latest gift will go towards BSF efforts to assist Dr. Claus and her team as they collect data from families with two or more meningioma diagnoses to build a database that will allow them to examine the role of genes in meningioma growth.  This generous contribution illustrates the increasing collaboration between the members of Meningioma Mommas and the Brain Science Foundation, two organizations working together in the fight to eliminate meningioma and improve the quality of life for those who are affected by these tumors.
