Dr. Peter M. Black Speaks about the Inspiration Behind his New Book, "Living with a Brain Tumor"
It was the BWH Kessler Library's most well attended book talk to date
It was standing room only on Monday, March 5, as staff, patients and friends filled the library eager to hear Dr. Black's message for patients, their
families and friends and the doctors, nurses and professionals who treat, comfort and advise them. Following his discussion, Dr. Black answered questions and signed book copies.
Having cared for more than 5,000 patients with brain tumors, Dr. Black drew on years of experience and personal interaction for this comprehensive resource that equips patients with the tools they need to address a brain tumor diagnosis and the many issues associated with this disease. Through this effort, Dr. Black hopes to encourage greater public awareness about brain tumors, their treatment and impact on patients and their families, a message that resonates strongly with the Brain Science Foundation.
Driving awareness and disseminating education are critical components of the Brain Science Foundation's greater mission to seed and advance multi-disciplinary research at the BWH into the cause, treatment and prevention of primary brain tumors, such as meningioma.
For this reason, the Brain Science Foundation is sponsoring the replay of Dr. Black's book talk throughout March as part of its participation in Brain Awareness Week, an international effort organized by the Dana Alliance for Brain Initiatives to advance public awareness about the progress and benefits of brain research.
Starting on Wednesday, March 7, the replay will be accessible by clicking here.
